Introducing Independent Contractor Incentive Pay

In efforts to address our contractors' recent concerns, we have created the Incentive Pay (IP) Program to help drivers run hard and earn more!

Qualifications

  • Program commences on March 1, 2016. All contractors as of February 29 are eligible for March pay.
  • All US-based Celadon independent contractors are eligible to participate.
  • Eligibility begins the month after the contract is signed. (March 27, 2016 = Eligible date - April 2016)
  • Miles are based on dispatch miles of all finaled leg/order.
  • Independent contractors must reach an 8,000- or 16,000-mile minimum to qualify for incentive pay.
  • Independent contractors receive incentive pay on the second Thursday pay cycle of the month following. (Drivers who qualify for the incentive pay in April 2016 will receive the payment on May 12, 2016.)

Q.  Who is eligible?
A.  All US-based Celadon independent contractors are eligible to participate.

Q.  What are the payout levels?
A.

Q.  How long does the Incentive Payment program last?
A.  The program is scheduled to run from March 1, 2016 until May 31, 2016.

Q.  What happens if I switch from solo to team during the month?
A.  A solo driver switching to team during the month will be considered solo for the month. (A team driver switching to solo during the month will be considered solo for the month.)

Q.  Are trainees eligible?
A.  No, trainees are not eligible.  However, trainers are eligible.

Q.  When will the incentive payment be paid?
A.  The incentive payment is paid on the second Thursday pay cycle of the month following. (Drivers who qualify in April 2016 will receive the payment on May 12, 2016.)

Q.  What happens if I leave the company before the incentive payment is distributed?
A.  Drivers must be with Celadon as of the date that the incentive payment is paid.

Q.  What happens if I become a company driver before the incentive payment is distributed?
A.  You must be an independent contractor with Celadon on the date incentive payment is paid.

Q.  Will I receive the full amount of the incentive payment?
A.  Incentive pay will first be applied to any outstanding owings including all items scheduled for deductions. (For example - As of payment date, driver has earned an incentive pay of $800 and owes $200.  In this situation, the driver would receive a $600 net payout.)

Additional Info

  • This program lasts for 3 months. At the end of 3 months, Celadon will evaluate continuing the program.
  • To be eligible, the driver must be an independent contractor for the entire month. (Any changes to this status will make the driver ineligible.)
  • A team switching to solo or vice versa during the month will be considered solo for the entire month.
  • Trainees are not eligible for this program. Trainers are eligible.
  • Independent contractors must still be with Celadon on the date of the incentive payout to be eligible.
  • Incentive pay will be first applied to any owings prior to payment, including items schedule for deduction. (Example – As of payment date, driver has earned an incentive pay of $800 and owes $200.  In this situation, the driver would receive a $600 net payout.)
  • There will be no exceptions to the above requirements.
